When in the timeless swirling of the seasons spring arrives, it comes like the high tide: gradually, quietly, unobtrusively. Waves of milder weather interleaf with the last harsh blusters of winter. Little shoots of green push their way up to the sunshine which each day grows stronger. If you look carefully, you will see the signs of spring growing day by day. Then, suddenly, the garden is in full bloom.

It is in this same gradual process that paradigms shift and peace manifests on our planet. This page is dedicated to pointing out the green shoots of change as they emerge into consciousness. As we discover peace and love are appearing all over our planet we can support and praise the changes and encourage the process to move ever more quickly and easily. And we can share our awareness with others who may still be in a "winter state of mind" and help them thaw into springtime.

Please read these items and welcome them into your consciousness with joy and wonder. We invite you to contribute your perceptions of the coming tide of peace as you find them. The more Signs of a World Awakening we share, the more we foster the process of humanity awakening and creating Peace on Earth.

  • TM and the Pentagon

The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of Transcendental Meditation (TM), offered his cure for global terrorism. He suggested gathering 40,000 yogis trained in TM to create a "spiritual force field" that would produce world peace and harmony.

The sign of a world awakening is a Pentagon spokesman's response to this offer. Army Major Tim Blair called the Maharishi's idea "a noble effort" and said he would not dismiss it. "I think everyone should take every measure available, whether through prayer or meditation, to try to end the violence that's caused by terrorism," he said. The world is truly waking up when the Pentagon recognizes and supports nonviolent methods to peace.
